Terms of use

Effective October 8, 2026.

These terms cover your use of plannerfees.com and the data you can download from it. By using the site you agree to them. They're short on purpose.

What the site is

PlannerFees is a directory of registered investment advisers that offer financial planning, with the fees they publish. We build it from public filings: the Form ADV data the SEC publishes, state registration data on the SEC's Investment Adviser Public Disclosure site, and each firm's Form ADV Part 2A brochure. We refresh it every month, and the current data is from October 2026. The methodology explains which firms we list and how fees are read.

Not investment advice

Nothing here is investment, tax or legal advice, and nothing here recommends hiring or avoiding any firm. Read a firm's brochure, talk to the firm and check its record on adviserinfo.sec.gov before you hire anyone.

No endorsement or ranking

A listing isn't an endorsement, and we don't rank firms by quality. When a table is sorted by fee, or a page names the state with the highest median, that's arithmetic on published numbers, not a judgment of any firm. No firm pays to be listed or to change how it shows up. PlannerFees isn't affiliated with the SEC, FINRA, NASAA, CFP Board or any firm listed.

Data provided as is

Software reads the fees from the brochures, and software makes mistakes. Brochures also go out of date. So the site and the data are provided "as is", with no warranty that they're accurate, complete or current. Every fee links to the sentence and the brochure it came from. Check those before you rely on a number.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, PlannerFees and the people who run it aren't liable for any loss or damage that comes from using the site or the data, including any decision you make based on a fee shown here.

Corrections and removal requests

If you work at a listed firm and something's wrong, email corrections@plannerfees.com with:

We aim to reply within 5 business days, and we check every report against the firm's latest filing. If a listed firm or its people earn commissions, tell us, and once the filing or brochure confirms it, we'll take the firm off.

Registrations and brochures are public records, so we'd normally correct a listing rather than remove it. If you still want a listing removed, email us and say why. We look at each request.

Using the dataset

You can download the data as CSV or JSON. CC BY 4.0 covers PlannerFees' compilation and the fee figures. The quoted brochure sentences are the firms' own words, quoted for reference, and the license doesn't cover them. Under the CC BY 4.0 license you can copy, share and build on the figures, commercially too, as long as you credit "PlannerFees (plannerfees.com)". If you reuse a quoted sentence, present it as a quote from the firm's filing.

Trademarks

CFP® and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® are certification marks owned by Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. (CFP Board). Other credential names belong to the organizations that award them. A credential on a firm page is one the brochure names, and it belongs to a person, not the firm. You can verify a CFP® professional with CFP Board. Firm names belong to their owners, and we use them only to identify the firms.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms, and the date at the top shows which version you're reading. Questions go to corrections@plannerfees.com. Our privacy policy covers what we measure.
